For us it's not just about stunning photos, it's about understanding your love story. We'll blend into the background to catch the candid moments, the stolen glances and tear-jerking vows, while guiding you through fun poses that make you feel like models in a magazine. Then we'll work our magic behind the scenes to deliver a curated collection of images that take you right back to the love and joy all over again.
Engagement Photography Packages
Our engagement sessions are an Ala carte add on to our wedding packages for a discounted price of $200 (reg. $775) however if you’d like to only book an engagement session then you can choose from our Your Time, Your Story or Your Adventure session type.

Our engagement sessions feel a lot like a fun date night with a third wheel who happens to have a camera. We’ll laugh, move around, and keep things easy so you’re not stuck in stiff poses or overthinking anything. It’s all about capturing your connection in a way that feels natural, playful, and actually like you.

Do you include a second photographer?
Do you travel for weddings?
We do. We're based in the Des Moines area and travel all over for weddings. If your location is outside of about a 90 minute radius, a travel fee may apply, but we'll always be upfront about that.
What is the booking process like?
We try to keep everything simple and stress free. To officially reserve your date, we require a signed contract and a retainer. From there, we'll guide you through the rest of the process so you always know what to expect.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. We offer flexible options including a payment plan or a pay in full option with a discount. We're happy to walk you through both so you can choose what works best for you.
When should we schedule our engagement session?
Most couples schedule their engagement session 6 to 12 months before their wedding, but we're flexible. We'll help you choose a time that fits your schedule and the look you're going for.
How many images will we receive and do we get printing rights?
You'll receive a full gallery of edited images that tell the complete story of your day. We don't hold images back. You'll also receive a print release so you can print and share your photos however you'd like.
How long does it take to receive our wedding photo gallery?
Our typical turnaround time is around 6 to 8 weeks, though our contract allows up to 15 weeks during busy season. We always do our best to deliver as soon as possible without sacrificing quality.
Will you help with timeline planning?
Absolutely. We're more than just photographers, we're here to help your day run smoothly. We'll guide you through building a timeline that allows for beautiful photos while still letting you fully enjoy your day. Heather is our dedicated admin for weddings.
What if we feel awkward in front of the camera?
You are not alone, most of our couples say this. We'll guide you in a way that feels natural and easy so you're not left wondering what to do. Our goal is for you to feel comfortable and actually enjoy the experience.

Are you the photographer on our wedding day?
Lemon and Lace is an associate team, which means your photographer may be Katie or one of our trusted team members including Victoria, Lacey, Courtney, Abbi, or Alexis. We are a team of hardworking women who truly care about the outcome and the experience we create for our clients. Every photographer on our team is experienced, aligned with our style, and committed to capturing your day in a way that feels genuine, thoughtful, and true to you.
Who does the editing?
All editing is done in house by Katie. This is a big part of how we keep our work consistent and true to the Lemon and Lace style you see and fall in love with.
